The 55th NSS Foundation Day was celebrated today at Patacharkuchi Vidyapith Higher Secondary School. The program was conducted by NSS Unit Programme Officer Majib Saikia and started with flag hoisting. The flag was hoisted by the i/c Principal of Patacharkuchi Vidyapith Higher Secondary School Dr. Sanjay Kumar Goswami. Afterwards, the NSS volunteers held an awareness rally in conjunction with "Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2024" and urged the people of Patacharkuchi to create a plastic free environment. They also collected about 50 kg of plastic lying along the roadsides and disposed of it. Finally, the subject teacher of Geography department Gautam Kumar Nath explained the significance of the foundation day of NSS. The NSS group of Patacharkuchi Vidyapith Higher Secondary School is conducting the "Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2024" from September 17 to October 2 across the country on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday. The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a program run by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India that provides opportunities for students to engage in social service.
